[...] Brian and Crispy hold down the podcasting fort in this episode. Can two men cover a list of topics that cover Evil Dead: The Music, new babies, European vibrator security problems, the end of Lost and George Lucas on the future of Star Wars? Download the podcast and find out! (more…) [...]

Plot arcs are clearly hard to sell, though, given how many story-arc-based shows got cancelled this season (Jericho, Veronica Mars).

You make a good point about Angel in season 2, but if he hadn't come back, we wouldn't have had the spin-off series. And I really really enjoyed the spin-off.

I don't think I've seen the DCTV bit, but I love People for the Ethical Treatment of Ewoks. One of my first role playing games was Star Wars, and the GM said that we could play an ewok character if we wanted to, but we should be prepared for it to take a quick trip out the nearest airlock at the earliest opportunity.

I liked your discussion on plot arcs and limited runs of tv shows. I get really frustrated when shows run too long. I loved Babylon 5 partially because JMS had most of the plot arc in mind and didn't let it keep going after it was done. I really wish Buffy and Gilmore Girls had ended after the main characters finished high school. It's also annoying when the main writer leaves a show, but they keep making it anyway, like Gilmore Girls and the West Wing.

And Angel never should have been made at all, because he should have stayed dead when Buffy had to kill him at the end of Season 2. It was a wonderful sad dramatic scene, and it was disappointing when Angel just showed up again the next season almost like nothing had happened.

You might want to check into re-editing this one. Around and into minute 14, we start to lose Brian, and yet I am the only voice heard. About 14:26, though, Brian is returned to us.
