WhatTheCon: A Dragon*Con 2007 Update

WhatTheCast is on hiatus as Brian, Stephen, Crispy & Patrick all run around in circles and get ready for our favorite event of the year … Dragon*Con. The four of us met thanks to Dragon*Con, and we play some role in putting on the show. Read below the cut for details on where we’ll be during this great sci-fi/fantasy convention.

All of the WhatTheCast members help produce Dragon*ConTV. Brian is the executive producer, Stephen is a writer & “actor”, Crispy does strange things in front of the camera and Patrick writes and does movie-quality voiceovers. Look for that madness on the Hyatt, Marriott & Hilton TV channels during the convention, along with constant playback in between panels.

  • Brian is the Dragon*Con Videography director, so watch out for the little red light on that video camera following him around … you may end up on a DVD :) This also means his staff is putting pretty pictures on big screens so large numbers of fans can count Brent Spiner’s nosehairs.
  • Stephen is a member of the Dragon*Con TechOps staff, and a panelist at Dragon*Con. His job as an honest-to-goodness rocket scientist put him on this year’s Space & Science track. Yes, we’re afraid.
  • Crispy is a member of the Videography staff, cursed to forever walk the convention with a camera on his shoulder. He’s also a panelist discussing the CBS show Jericho.
  • Patrick isn’t on any panels (*pout*) but he’s a full-fledged member of Dragon*Con TechOps. Along with Stephen, Patrick runs the nerve center of the Technical Operations staff … sort of like a less sexy Oracle from Birds of Prey. Yeah, not so sexy …

Anyway, if you don’t see any of us, make sure you head to the Podcasting track in the Hilton to meet our friends from Farpoint Media.
