I've been "out of the basement" for a while and have discussed my yearly pilgrimage to Atlanta and Dragon*Con with my work mates (one of them even used to go for gaming). Fortunately most of the people I hang out with now days are in the con circuit, although there are some cons that I don't mention that I go to, in general circles like Frolicon. Some things are best unsaid at times, and even among geeks there are still hang ups like my love of Torchwood and Filking.
