Episode 114: How the Other Half Podcasts

Last episode had only Stephen and Patrick. This episode has just Brian and Crispy! It’s doubly impressive that this episode was recorded because Crispy had just gotten Dragon’s Lair for the XBox, and it uses a Kinect interface. So it’s super frustrating in a very different way than the original!

Brian and Crispy had both seen Avengers, so there’s some talk about the movie, but there’s much more talk about all the Avengers fan-art the movie has spawned. Have you seen the Avengers done as the minions from Despicable Me? How about Pixar’s The Avengers? Or the Avengers done in the style of Maurice Sendak?

But enough about that. The real tragedy is that GI Joe 2 has been delayed to 2013 to “add 3D”. We suppose the “3″ in “2013″ is for 3D! We now know that it’s one year for every extra dimension that’s added to a movie. Crispy meanwhile is super excited about Seth MacFarlane’s new movie Ted.

In con news, while Stephen was off at Balticon, Dragon*Con reached 227 guests, including Michael Stackpole, Dean Cain, all of the core cast of the Guild, and more. Even Adam Baldwin is still listed as attending.

Jumping to TV, Sanctuary was cancelled, while Community was picked up (sans showrunner Dan Harmon). Tron: Uprising is surprisingly good, and in other Seth MacFarlane news, he’s helping bring the TV show Cosmos back.

In a move that caused executives everywhere to simultaneously shout “SYNERGY!”, SyFy and Trion Worlds are creating DEFIANCE, a TV show with an MMO shooter. It’s either like peanut butter plus chocolate or peanut butter plus motor oil.
