Welcome back to another installment of Crispy, Brian and Stephen talking about geek news like there’s no tomorrow. In con news, Stephen reports on Balticon. Did you know he had time to play an RPG while he was there? I know! Stephen hasn’t played a game at a con since 2003, back before they’d invented either dungeons or dragons. Also of note: John Barrowman is attending Dragon*Con. No news whether he will wear a shirt while there, though if he doesn’t, you’ll be able to tell by the trail of passed-out fans he’ll leave in his wake.
He’s a pretty, pretty man, is what we’re saying.
Crispy and Brian talk about Prometheus, and Stephen gives his opinion of the movie even though he hasn’t seen it. Look, it’s what geeks do. If that’s not to your liking, about a documentary about John DeLancie going to a My Little Pony fan convention? Or seven voice actors reading Star Wars at Emerald City Comicon? Hey, those last two both have Tara Strong in them.
Stephen’s learned the downside of Netflix: you can watch terrible cartoons like The Super Mario Brothers Super Show or The Legend of Zelda. You don’t like that? Well, excuuuuuuse me, Princess! Crispy’s more excited about Wreck-It Ralph, while Brian can’t believe how FunnyJunk is threatening cartoonist The Oatmeal. Stephen’s grooving on John Scalzi’s new novel Redshirts, which is about exactly what you think it’s about. It even has its own theme song by Jonathan Coulton.
Say, guess who else got a dog? Crispy did! Meet his new dog Kermit!
