No podcast this week due to the our need to have “lives” (sorry). We’re busy with summer plans, careers and producing high quality video content for Dragon*ConTV and ManaNation. We’ll be back next week to talk about the new Hulk movie, Dragon*Con and a new term to replace “jump the shark” in our nerd vocabulary.
So take the half hour you’d normally spend with WhatTheCast and use it to promote our 5th party candidate in the 2008 US Presidential election … Mitt Zombie.

Stephen, Crispy & Brian will be at the Jonathan Coulton show tonight @ The Five Spot. We’ll have videocameras in hand, grabbing footage to submit to Yahoo! News or just use to make more content for this wacky podcast.
Plus we have to meet the man who inspired this Dragon*ConTV video Continue reading ‘Tonight in Atlanta: Jonathan Coulton Show’
Patrick Jarrett, one of the co-hosts of WhatTheCast, it about to release the first episode of ManaNation … the weekly video podcast about Magic: The Gathering. Patrick is a huge fan of the game and really know his stuff.
Don’t confuse this with the fact that Patrick worked for the Orlando Magic basketball team … completely different stuff …
Patrick’s goal is to produce a quality video podcast on a weekly basis, and we hope fans of the collectible card game tune in and support ManaNation.
You got Dragon*Con questions, WhatTheCast has answers …
Episode 15 of WhatTheCast records Monday night (Sept 10th). We’re going to be discussing our experience at Dragon*Con from the perspective of staff. Brian is a convention director (videography) and Stephen, Patrick & Crispy play key roles on staff.

WhatTheCast is on hiatus as Brian, Stephen, Crispy & Patrick all run around in circles and get ready for our favorite event of the year … Dragon*Con. The four of us met thanks to Dragon*Con, and we play some role in putting on the show. Read below the cut for details on where we’ll be during this great sci-fi/fantasy convention.

Brian from WhatTheCast entered a contest today …

Yep, I entered the NPR Public Radio Talent Quest … a contest I am now calling “This American Idol”.
If you think I should have a shot at hosting a NPR program, then send a vote my way. It may be a total mistake, since my salary as an engineer may soar above that of a public radio host, but it looks like fun.
Stephen may not be on podcasts for a while, but he has a great excuse …
Kathryn Elizabeth “Liza” Granade was born today at 12:19 P.M. She weighed 7 lbs. 7 oz., and was 19.5″ long. She scored an 8.9 on the Apgar scale.
The birth was not without drama, but everyone is fine. Congratulations to our friends Stephen & Misty on their latest addition to the world.
I, for one, welcome our new Farpoint Media overlords
The same folks that produce & distribute shows Slice of Scifi, Wingin’ It & Kick Ass Mystic Ninjas are now helping us n00b podcasters
If you’re not familiar with the FPM lineup, check out their shows (but save some time to listen to us).
I just finished moving all of our episodes to the Farpoint Media hosting service. I apologize if you end up downloading the same episode again with a different filename, but we needed to fix some problems with our naming conventions.
It’s a fun yet dysfunctional group of people … nothing new for a podcast made up of Dragon*ConTV staffers …
WhatTheCast now has a profile on Twitter, as Brian gets dragged kicking and screaming into social networking. http://twitter.com/WhatTheCast
This post also doubles as a test of a Twitter plugin that floods our profile with posts from whatthecast.com & siliconchef.com.
